The trip
I will be traveling to La Manzanilla, Mexico to join an Earthwatch Institute research team to study the mangroves found along the coast and collect data on the species which inhabit this ecosystem.
From March 17th to March 25th, I will join nine other Earthwatch volunteers from the United States and Australia in Mexico. Principal investigators Jerry Keir, Paco Castellanos, Sudeep Chandra, Don Rodriguez, and Brad Mosma will lead the research team. I will assist in wildlife inventory, mapping using GIS (Global Information System), seed collection, planting, and monitoring and evaluation
